CALL ME CHEESY
Anyone else a hoarder of sentimental things? I am guilty of keeping all my letters... Yes kids, letters that were hand written and sent with postage stamps.
It's quite cringe-worthy reading them back but something like this can put a smile on anyone's face.
Old photographs deserve to be framed. Put them up as a piece of art.
In one of my previous posts, I talked about making your room your own personal space.
I am going to let you in on some corners of my sanctuary.
Perhaps it is a girl thing to keep teddy bears. I have them all, though some are packed away in boxes. To throw them away would be such a waste. Better to pass the love onto someone else and donate.
It is a dream of mine to have a wall full of art books but for now I've settled with 2 shelves...
I collect these Thai fish origamis, if you can call them that. It reminds me of my childhood trips to the sea side.
It is human nature I think, to keep things that we feel attached to. No matter if you actually use or need it. It can lie there insignificantly at the bottom of your cupboard but still, it is comforting to know that it is there.
I am a big sentimental fool when it comes to jewellery. I truly believe in never buying 2nd hand or vintage jewellery. I feel like it is too personal for it to be simply passed on to strangers... and I believe in spirits so one day I swear the previous owner will be floating above my bed demanding me to give it back. Very rational thoughts.
Well there it is... and if you have something with you that you haven't looked at or touched in a while, now is a good time to acknowledge it and put it back in the past aka locked away in a box.
